What are you reading?

“It’s Monday! What are you Reading?” is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. It is a chance for book lovers to share their reading accomplishments as well as what is on the proverbial nightstand. She even does a giveaway. Subsequently Jen and Kellee at Teach Mentor Texts added an opportunity for those reading kidlit to join the fun. Since I read both I will post to both. Check them out, join the conversations, and discover more great books.

Here is what I have read in the past month.
An * indicates my ‘must own’ list, either for myself or my classroom library.

Planting Dandelions by Kyran Pittman

The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann

*Poison Study by Maria V. Snider
The start of a series. I am anxious to read the next two.

The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards

*Everyday Editing by Jeff Anderson
I am looking forward to incorporating these ideas into my classroom this year.

Inside the Kingdom by Carmen Bin Ladin

Product DetailsiWrite: Using Blogs, Wikis, and Digital Stories in the English Classroom by Dana J. Wilbur

*The Digital Writing Workshop by Tony Hicks
This book gave me ideas, sites, and things to ponder for my classroom this year.

That's a Summer

Tonight is the last night of summer vacation. Suitcases are packed. The house is clean. Tomorrow we start our long journey to our other home and the start of another school year.

The break has been good.

I thought I would write. I thought I would blog. I didn't and it is OK.

The break has been good and I am ready to start a new school year, a new job, and another adventure. Many thoughts are peculating, but you will have to wait until the school year routine starts until I am back the the swing of things.

In service starts Saturday!
