I will leave out a detailed photo, as there is no pleasant way to take a close look at conjunctivitis. The only good thing was in the timing. 

Friday mornings nothing is open and no one is up and around so a Friday morning trip to the ER (no such thing as Urgent Care here) is the most efficient doctor’s visit you will ever experience. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes. 

Plus, the only pharmacy open for at least the next nine hours was the hospital. Jump start on the antibiotics not only meant faster improvement in body and spirit, but also the faster we could all be back at school.
