Dinner Conversation–Four Year Old Style

sols_turq

At dinner G was very excited to talk about an upcoming birthday party she has been invited to. Most importantly is WHOSE birthday it is, as it is the boy she is going to marry.

J and I looked at one another, as the last we had heard she was going to marry a different boy. He finally asked her what happened with her previous plans. She replied, matter-of-factly, that she decided to not marry that boy because he doesn’t like sand.

There was a brief pause in the conversation, which J broke by saying, “Marriage is much more than…”

He paused. I looked at him, wide eyed, with a chuckle. “You are really going to go there?” I asked him.

“Oh never mind, G”, he says and takes another bite of dinner.

I am thinking he has to be at least glad that she is now choosing her suitors out of her classmates, rather than the boys in middle school!

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for medical science and a school nurse who gives a good shot. We had 'family flu shot day' with everyone smiling through the process. Woot!

What Are You Reading?

“It’s Monday! What are you Reading?” is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. It is a chance for book lovers to share their reading accomplishments as well as what is on the proverbial nightstand. She even does a giveaway. Subsequently Jen and Kellee at Teach Mentor Texts added an opportunity for those reading kidlit to join the fun. Since I read both I will post to both. Check them out, join the conversations, and discover more great books.
