"In The Midst"
A bottle
of milk
on the Communion Table
Breast Feeding
while receiving a
blood transfusion
The promise
of Easter
in the midst
of Lent
Light
overcoming
Darkness
Post Script:
One of the things that the March Challenge does for me, and many other writers, is encourage us to look for inspiration everywhere. Today's comes from the poem, "The Children's Sermon" by Ann Weems.
I searched for the poem by Weems, wanting to compare the two; thanks for the additional reading prompt. "Breast Feeding while receiving a blood transfusion" is such an intense line, brings up wondering thoughts, almost answered by the rest of the poem. Great post!
ReplyDeleteEach different part of the poem were like a little mini Slices themselves, each pushing me to imagine the circumstances of the situation. After reading the inspiring poem, I can see the idea of something powerful and pure and light and strong happening in the midst of life, good or bad around you. Of taking the time to stop and take in beauty and meaning when the world swirls around you. Lovely!
