My Mother Loves March

Write, Share, Give

My mother loves March and not just because it is her anniversary. Not because of other family celebrations (anniversary, birthdays), but because she is guaranteed something posted on my blog every, single, day. She is a huge fan of the SOLSC because of the volume it forces me to produce.

Luckily she doesn’t care if it is a story about her grand daughter, a reflection on life as a teacher, insight into life in the Middle East, or talking about books. As long as something is written and waiting in her feed, she is content.

Today I am glad to know that this post is both making her smile and giving me something to write about. I decided that reflecting on her appreciation was a better option than the challenges of an eminent move to a new classroom space, wondering if we are still in winter or starting an early spring, or talking about how much I love to see my students engaged in a project where they are learning from one another as they need support to complete their task.

This is a shout-out across time zones – thanks for reading Mom!

  1. I love that your mom loves your blog and your writing. Does she ever comment? My mom and dad read my blog, but still comment by mouth! I keep saying-write it on the blog so I have a history of your great thinking!

  3. You and my attention and interest with why your Mom would love March and I didn't expect your writing to be the reason and I find that so sweet. My Dad has read my blog a couple of times awhile back and left a comment or two but I don't know if they still read it. I should check.

  4. That's adorable! I honestly never even thought about sharing my blog with my parents. Mostly because I just started it for the SOLC and didn't think I would have much to say others outside of the SOLC would enjoy! Now I'll have to pass it along :) Although she has difficulty navigating all that technology hoopla.

  7. Thinking about how long distance phone calls used to cost an arm and a leg. Your post really puts the ease of connecting into perspective.
